SAM invests in well-managed, undervalued companies with strong fundamentals

Investment Approach

Investment Approach

SAM seeks to invest in undervalued companies relative to intrinsic value with strong growth potential.  Most of the potential companies assessed are mid-cap companies with earnings growth potential unrecognized by most other investors, those with turn-around stories, or those with potential for M&A situations.

SAM seeks these companies through its extensive business networks and through constant meetings with prospective companies.  SAM performs in-depth fundamental research into the company’s management, financials, operations, customers and corporate governance.

Investment Process

SAM’s investment team enforces rigorous due diligence before submission to the Independent Investment Committee. In addition to fundamental analysis, the investment team meets one on one with company executives, in order to:

  • Evaluate the strength of management and capability
  • Acquire a high level of comfort for the company’s commitment, competence, and prospects
  • Assess their business practices
  • Examine their office and operations
  • Investigate their corporate governance and outside auditing firm
